“Free App Alert” is a series where we list out a couple of premium/paid apps which are available for free for a limited period. In today’s edition, we have a couple of personalization apps (including icon packs) and utilities for Android and iOS. Feel free to suggest any app that you like which has gone free (forever or for a limited time). Please note that the app developers can change the pricing anytime, so please be fast.
Music Translator
This is a niche Android app designed for musicians. As the name suggests, it lets you save audio recordings as sound and representations of the detected tones and chords into musical notation. The app doesn’t require an internet connection and is currently available for free on the Play Store.
Elun Icon Pack
Next up, an icon pack for Android users. The app brings a comprehensive set of clean, flat and circle-shaped icons to freshen up your home screen. There are over 4,100 icons and 31 ultra-HD wallpapers to choose from. Elun icon pack works for most launchers out there and is on sale right now.
Super Happy Fun Block
This is a puzzle game for iOS devices. As you can guess from the title, the goal is to help a “super happy fun” block character to cross various levels. The app comes with a unique graphic approach and a range of adventures to choose from.
PIXELMAN
Pixelman is a retro-themed adventure game for Android devices which has recently dropped the price tag. The story involves you taking control of the title character in his mission to rescue the citizens of Pixville from the evil Baron Von Pixel and his contraptions.
Taskful
Taskful is a smart to-do manager for iOS devices. The app lets you break down all of your various tasks into categories. You can track just about anything with Taskful including steps, drinking water, reading a book and more. Moreover, the app features a daily progress bar to keep you motivated and updated. Taskful usually comes with a hefty price tag but is free as of now.
App Shortcuts Creator
Moving on, we have an Android utility called “App Shortcuts creator”. The tool allows you generate quick links for apps’ individual screens and activities and place them on the homescreen. It generally costs INR 10, however, is free for a limited period now.
Dongers Keyboard
Dongers Keyboard is a universal iOS app that lets you create, save and instantly use dongers i.e. emojis based on Unicode characters. The app itself comes with a few default ones for you to get started.
Chrooma Live Wallpaper
Next up is one of the most lightweight and pleasing live wallpapers available on Android’s play store – Chrooma. The app adds a dynamic combination of colors and shapes to your home screen. Unlike others, it supports 60fps animation as well which results in much smoother animations. You can, of course, customize these combinations based on your preferences. There are two apps by Chrooma, both of which are available for free right now and feature different patterns.
Digits
Digits is one of the most popular calculator apps for iPhone. Its simple approach and a feature called “tape” that keeps track of all your inputs has allowed it to grow on the app store exponentially. The app is primarily designed for expenses and creating financial assets statement. Digits is certainly a must-have app if you own an iOS device and it’s free!
Retropix Icon Pack
The last icon pack for the list today is Retropix. It’s a round-shaped and vintage-themed icon pack, as you can predict from the title. The collection contains over 4700 icons and a bunch of cloud wallpapers.
Sorcery!
Lastly, we have an iOS game called “Sorcery”. The four-part adventure comes with a marvelous story and an interactive 3D world map. The app store’s listing reads, “it uses inklewriter technology to tell your journey in real-time, shaping the story around your choices. The text itself changes based on how you play and what you do, and in combat, the action is a description on the fly based on how you play.”
