AI has brought us a multitude of fun, photo-editing apps in the last year or two. You can turn your selfies into artworks or search for an ancient doppelgänger or just peek a little in the future and visualize how you would look when you’re 90. That’s all great. But you know what isn’t? None of them can morph you into Cheetos. Thankfully, the snack company seems to have realized this already and its new app for iOS is exactly meant to fill this dreadful void in your life.
Called “Cheetos Vision”, you can think of it as if Prisma had added a cheesy, Cheetos filter on its app. Once you click a picture or record a video through the Cheetos Vision (that’s what the developers have named the viewfinder), the app takes a few moments (a little longer in the case of videos) to process the file and presents you with an output that uplifts the saying, “Hey, there’s some Cheetos in your hair” to a whole new level.
The filter essentially dips your image or video into a pack of Cheetos and sticks pieces of it anywhere possible. Wherever it doesn’t, the app usually just paints the areas with gradients of orange. It employs an artificially intelligent algorithm to figure out the places which require depth such as your eyes or lips. In addition to that, your hair will be basically turned into long lumps of the snack woven together in a wig.
The results can come out a bit terrifying but you probably should have known that when you installed the app. Alright, fine, we should have warned you at the beginning of the article. It’s still a delightful little party trick for lighting up your social network and sharing among friends who share an equal, if not more enthusiasm for Cheetos. Sadly, it’s limited to just iOS devices right now with no word on an Android release. If you do own, grab the app from the link down below.
